4Winds Specialty Tours was previously a tour division of Kennewick Travel, Inc./American Express in Kennewick, Washington. Kennewick Travel is an established, fully licensed and bonded IATA and ASTA travel agency. It came under new management in October 2003, and is now a Carlson Wagonlit Travel office. Therefore 4Winds Specialty Tours is now a tour division of Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
We pride ourselves at 4Winds Tours in offering the most distinct and unforgettable European bicycle and barge tours in Holland, France, Germany, Austria and Belgium.
All tour monies are handled by Carlson Wagonlit Travel, and saved in their escrow account. 4Winds Specialty Tours is also covered under the liability insurance of Carlson Wagonlit travel.

Elfriede Wind, the Heart of 4Winds Specialty Tours
Manager Elfriede Wind, a member of the OSSN (Outside Sales Support Network), started the tour division in 1989 under the name of Bon Voyage Specialty Tours, in cooperation with Bon Voyage Travel of Colorado.
After a move to West Richland, WA, she contracted to sell her tours under the supervision of Kennewick Travel, Inc./American Express, which became Carlson Wagonlit Travel a few years ago.
As a native of Holland, Elfriede introduced the now very popular Holland bike/barge tours. eighteen years later, she still offers these tours, as well as tours in a select few other European countries. However, the bike/barge tours are still by far the most popular. Elfriede escorted many of the Spring Flower bike/barge tour groups, and has stayed on most barges. In 2005 she also did the Loire valley bike barge tour in France.
In the past few years, 4Winds Specialty Tours has rented many barges to private groups of 10-26 people, and can advise as to which barge is best suited for group or event. Elfriede has customized tours for Girl Scouts, family groups, cyclist groups and non-cyclist families and groups.
In 2007 she took a partner, Margie Seipt, who might be selling you your next tour or mail you your paperwork.
